Description: Upper vegetation structure is dead trees 30 to 40 feet tall, with an understory of live scrub-shrub.
Conditions: Soil saturated to the surface, some ponded standing water (no flow). Evidence of snow fall within the past few days, and melt water flowing into the wetland and lake.
Dominant Plants:   Scientific Name:
Cottonwood   Populus fremontii
Willow   Salix spp

Disturbances: Evidence of fire within last few years. Cottonwood trees dead from fire. Scrub-shrub of willow growing post fire. Lake Cuyamaca has a managed water level.
